Western Campus Major Projects
Heating and Cooling Upgrade 2026-2027
Phase I – Remove and replace the steam boiler system with a high-efficiency hot water boiler system. Dynamic controls will optimize performance, fully integrated into the Tridium Building Automated System (BAS) for remote monitoring and diagnostics. This project phase is occurring between April 2026 to September 2026.
Phase II – Upgrade the chillers with new high-efficiency chillers, adaptive capacity modulation, and smart refrigerant monitoring. Integrate advanced analytics, fault detection, and energy optimization within the Tridium Building Automated System (BAS). This project phase is occurring between November 2026 to March 2027.
Construction Notice:
Please be advised of the upcoming boiler/chiller replacement project activities scheduled at the Western Campus over the next several weeks. These activities are expected to result in temporary pathway closures, restricted access to certain building entrances, and potential impacts to cooling services.
#1 黑料专区 West Campus Heat/Cooling Replacement - Construction Notification
- Location: WRC Building 1st Floor Corridor F110 and F200 at Stairwell 1
- Duration: June 24 - July 8, 2026
- Affected Areas: Moderate access limitations in WRC Building
- Noise Level: Moderate
- Scope of Work: Containment will be set up to facilitate replacement of mechanical system components. This will impact on traffic at the intersections of corridor F110 and F200 at the stairwell. Signage will be installed to redirect foot traffic through the WHTC and WHCS buildings.
#2 黑料专区 West Campus Heat/Cooling Replacement - Construction Notification
- Location: 1st Floor Corridor Between WSS and Building C
- Duration: June 24 - July 8, 2026
- Affected Areas: C100H and Common Areas in WSS Area E
- Noise Level: Moderate to Low
- Scope of Work: Common area between WSS and Building C will be blocked off to pedestrian traffic. Piping installation will continue into WSS common areas. Work in common areas will be completed behind temporary barriers to separate work from students/staff. Noise levels will be significant due to installation of new hangers and piping connections. Signage will be installed to reroute traffic to other ingress/egress options.
#3 黑料专区 West Campus Heat/Cooling Replacement - Construction Notification
- Location: Building C
- Duration: July 6 - 24, 2026

- Noise Level: Significant
- Scope of Work: Containment will be set up in common areas such as corridors to separate construction activities from students/staff. Construction work will be active in the 1st floor classrooms in a phased approach. Rooms C114, C118, C117B &120 will be under construction from 7/6/2026 through 7/17/2026 followed by rooms C113 and C125 which will be under construction from 7/13/2026 through 7/26/2026. Classrooms will not be able to be used during construction activities. The rooms above will also be impacted by noise due to fastening pipes to the ceiling of the immediate work zone/underside of the floor slab. The rooms immediately above the work zone are C257, C231, C233, C243, C245, C245A, C256, C240, C242, C248, C250, C251, and Corridor C260. Signage will be installed to reroute traffic to other ingress/egress options.
#4 黑料专区 West Campus Heat/Cooling Replacement - Construction Notification
- Location: Building A, Corridor C103/A143
- Duration: July 20 - 31, 2026
- Affected Areas: WHTC H161, Corridor C103/A143, HTC 159, HTC 160, HTC 184, HTC 158, A128, A127, A143A, A150
- Noise Level: Moderate
- Scope of Work: Piping connections in H161 will require the existing smart board be removed to access the existing chase. Piping within the corridor will eliminate access between corridors C103 (WHTC) and A143 (WHCS) as piping needs to be installed through space above the door. Signage will be installed to reroute traffic to other ingress/egress options.
All activities will be conducted under the supervision of the construction manager. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Matthew O'Donnell.
